My dad's surgery is over.....he's doing fine.

He had quadruple bypass surgery today.

Thanks, DK for letting us know. The first 24 hours out of surgery is the worst for your dad. All those tubes. All that will be gone tomorrow as well as the ventilator. Your dad will feel much better once he is taken off the ventilator.

Don't make him laugh, because that will hurt. My brother did that to me the next day, but, what are brother for?

It's simply amazing to think that they placed his heart and lungs on a machine during surgery. Fifty years ago there would be little that could be done.

I'm really happy for your dad and for your family. Do let us know how is coming along.

My father had the same operation back in 1997 - he didn't survive his surgery :-( I didn't want to mention that until I heard that your dad was okay. Glad he's doing well. :-)
