3. Are you getting the unedited one.
If you watch the original, the director comes out and talks about a war between the forces of good and evil, or righteousness and ungodliness. He was referring to the Soviet Union of course. But, never-the-less, I think it's still very interesting to see the opening monologue and how the American Taliban could use it today.

4. Keep in mind, Yahweh ordered genocide.
The same Pentateuch that has Yahweh delivering the Ten Commandments to Moses also tells of Yahweh ordering both Moses and Joshua to commit genocide. To my knowledge these are the oldest recountings of genocide on record, though obviously, no one knows how much the stories are myth and how much based on fact. In one case, Yahweh upbraids Moses because the Israelite army spared the children that Yahweh had ordered to be slaughtered.

5. I just caught the part where the women go sword crazy on some group.
I thought it was kinda funny after one woman did a spear disco on one guy, she turned to her son and said, "You don't need to see this."

Too late, Maw!!!

It's the most highly regarded one.

who believes in God and the Devil would be foolish to not think the devil had a hand in its(the bible and the organised religion itself) creation.
infact i dare say most of it was created by satan. i mean, if someone truely was talking to you in your head(and it wasnt you)... youd tend to believe it was God regardless(if you believed in God). so im sure the devil had a huge hand in the making. i think he put the parts about not listening to pagans and false prophets in there as a funny joke for him to laugh at as he watches all the people follow his words to a T in the name of their God.

i would go ahead and chalk up the hate parts of the bible to the devil whispering in peoples ear. or maybe just another human. depending on what you believe exactly ;)

9. Old Testament God would whack you for the slightest offense
He personally killed a guy just for reaching out and steadying the ark of the covenant as it was about to fall.

11. Of course, there is no evidence at all that the Hebrews were enslaved
by the Egyptians. Modern archaeological evidence proves that the pyramids were built by
Egyptian craftsmen without slave labor. But the Bible can't have that. It tries to elevate
the Jews as the chosen people by gloming onto THE great civilization of the day and
telling a fairy tale that a bunch of slaves bested the greatest civilization on Earth.

Right.

It's actually a form of literary racism, isn't it?

There's also no evidence of the Jewish nation wandering the desert. All of those people should have
left plenty of garbage lying around, but there's nada. 600,000 men = 1.5 million people when
you add in the women & children...which would have been a larger population than that of Egypt!

And, BTW - how come no one bothers pointing out that it took the Jews 40 years of wandering in the
desert to go about 10 days' journey? How come many of the Pharoahs mentioned in the Bible don't
show up at all in the copious records that the Egyptians themselves kept?

The Jews were never in Egypt in significant numbers. The truth is that archeology shows
that they originated in Canaan. The Bible story of the Exodus is a huge scientifically disproven lie, yet here we are,
millenia later, and the lie gets a brand new TV treatment.

Fun Exodus stuff here: http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/egypt.htm

18. Actually only for 15 Minutes

It was on in another room where my girlfriend was, asking me to take a peek. She knew I studied religion back in parochial school so she wondered if I could verify whether the movie was more brutal than what was written in the Old Testament.

Personally, I find the story a bit fanatical and evil.

What's your point? Offended I call it as I see it?
