4. Sucks, huh?
I love the Pointer Sisters. She was the one that always stood out with me. I liked it when Bonnie was still with them. I loved the sound of all four of them together.

12. A few months ago I was 'serenaded' by two of the Pointer Sisters
I was outside of a club in Los Angeles and 4 beautiful, well dressed and a little tipsy black women came out of the restauant next door. They stood on the sidewalk and proceeded to start singing in harmony. I realized that 2 of them were Pointers (i have to admit I don't know which) and one was Jennifer Lewis (I think). I just stood there - loving it - and trying not to be too obtrusive as I shared in their merriment.

Life in LA is fun sometimes!

RIP June. You are now truly singing with the angels.

14. When I hosted a college radio show...
There was a station sponsor called "Poynter Brothers". They owned a hardware store and a heating/cooling installation business. One day, I was supposed to do a commercial for the Poynter Brothers, so I did my bit and played "I'm So Excited" at a slow speed to make it sound like men were singing it. It made ME laugh, but I got a call from the station manager five minutes later, and the Poynter Brothers were apparently not amused.

Such is life.
