I come home and it's, what's for dinner? Even though said people are at home all day long doing jack. Sometimes it's, we have nothing for dinner even though the cupboard has soup and such. Yep, nothing for dinner. Can't use the oven either....you'll run up the electric bill. Can's use the dryer....you'll run up the electric bill. What's the use.

44. El Rodeo on El Cajon Blvd by 70th St. has great Carne Asada.
But the best is a little place in Barrio-Logan on National Ave called Albertos. The burritos have to weigh in at a lb and a half. Nice tender, lean carne asada too.
El Indio on India @ Washington St.is legendary.

53. Oh YEAHHH. It's right next to El Indio, adjacent to the cafe
where the moped/Vespa scooters are all the time, next to Shakespeare's pub.

So if you go to Saffron, they have both a carryout section and a sit down. Sit down sells all the carryout chicken but has some other dishes too.

Go to the sitdown sometime, and order a breast/thigh/leg combo, when you're hungry. Comes with rice, and get at least two or three different sauces to try. My sauce recommendations: Peanut (my fave), Siracha (fiery), and Sweet Pepper (milder). It's got a little Thai salad too.

They have other good stuff, but really, you go there for the roast chicken, so just get that breast thigh leg combo! You can get an Orangina or some Thai beer with it. Menu is linked at the official link below.

31. I learned when I lived in Mass.
The hardest part of making it out here in CA is getting Portuguese chorizo. Half the time I give up and use kielbasa. It's a great winter warmer.

61. Is that the same as linguica?
I've seen it in a couple of my recipes, and wondered where I could get some down here.

Maybe they have it at Fiesta.

62. No, linguica is different but they are similar.
Linguica tends to be skinnier, milder, and sold in long lengths like kielbasa. Chourizo/Chourico is a short, fat and very garlicky version. You can use either one in caldo verde.

One specialty in the Portuguese neighborhood where I lived was Linguica pizza. That was great!

Mostly Czechs, Germans, and Mexicans. I gotta check at Fiesta or Central Market though. They usually have everything.
