Hey everyone. This is my first attempt at a poem. I generally stick to short stories, essays, and narratives, but I was told I may be good at poetry so here it goes. Also, for anyone who actually knows about poetry, enlighten me as to the generally accepted way to construct one
To see the world through enlightened eyes, To understand the withered trees and barren lies Calls for 'membrance of olden times Times of laughter, joy, and little care But today, the darkness will always snare
Busied minds ignore the lives of all While hellfire freezes yet planets thaw Questions buzz through all with vision, But others care not; their lives have not risen No, not risen from their ignorant places, They can never win these violent races For those are human, and cannot change But should they? Will it help?
Perhaps they're better this way, they're useless to us Though, emotion may save them, but only just But even so, best not let them rot, Fore an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind Yet with no sight, we're all of one kind
Blind.
