Any Georgia DU'ers?
I'm headed to your lovely state for a 9 day work trip. All over the state. Anything that I absolutely MUST see?

1. Don't drive in Atlanta
if you don't have to. Especially around the bypass.

2. I'll be in and around ATL plenty. But, I'll be with current and former
Atlanta residents so I'm sure they'll be driving. I've been to ATL several times and I'm always amazed by the amount of traffic. Personally, I think it's the worst in the country.

3. I'm in Savannah
The historic district here is beautiful.

Another possibility is Valdosta, in the SW. It has one of the best deals as far as theme parks go.
It's called Wild Adventures. Much better than Six Flags imho.

4. Savannah is pretty much the one area we won't be going to!
I would very much like to visit someday. I'm going to be there with the Tour de Georgia.

5. You've gotta do Stone Mountain
Even the carving of those figures can't detract much from it, it's a damn impressive place.

And you've gotta go to the top.

There is a mystic quality to that experience that even tourist mecca hokieness can't completely wash away.

The reward of the summit is better if you can climb. But there is a sky-lift available.
