This camel's back is broken. That's it. I'm done.
The feeling of ennui has become too much. I've been dissatisfied with my life for a long time, but I haven't been actively trying to make drastic changes. I can't take it anymore. I deserve a better life. Life deserves more from me.

Hiding out...put it to you this way - I recently listened to my answering machine (which had been full forever) I had messages from November that I hadn't listened to yet. I haven't been seing my family or friends. I haven't been applying for jobs.

36. are you depressed?
Sounds like a lack of passion in your life--not just a sexual kind of passion, but something you care about. Is the career change likely to address that? I know money helps, plus you meet more people . . .

50. withdrawal and ennui are both hallmarks of depression
you might see a doctor about it. Could be treatable. It won't solve your problems, but it could help your emotional ability to deal with them.

I, too, need passion in my life for everything to work. Since my separation and divorce 18 months ago, I haven't found passion in a new relationship, but I am passionate about songwriting and the work I do with at-risk kids. Now if I could just make those passions pay a little better, things would be fine! :-)

59. Seconded
Sounds like classic depression symptoms to me. I get the same ones when I hit a bad spell-- I stop doing routine things (like getting my voicemail/email, cleaning my apt) even though I don't always feel sad.

Seriously, I would go see a doctor, get a physical and get screened for depression. Because it will be a lot harder to turn your life around if you're clinically depressed than if you are feeling 100%.

It can be a vicious circle: you get mad at yourself because you can't accomplish anything, which makes you feel worse, which makes it harder to get anything done, which makes you even more angry,.... you can see where this gets you.

I've been dealing with major clinical depression for most of my life, and I've had numerous incidents like this. You really owe it to yourself to get checked out.

Best of luck to you

Rejection? Feh. I spit on your rejection. (Say that next time, out loud, and actually spit when you say it. Trust me, it'll make you feel 100% better.)

31. Passion, m'dear, that's the ticket. Just remember that.
We're not talking sluttiness here, no, that's not what passion is. Passion is putting it all on one roll of the dice, then doing it again the next day if it didn't work out the day before.

Passion is for you to describe to a man how you REALLY feel when you fly, and when you're done telling him about it, if his eyes are unfocused, you've explained it with passion.

You get the idea. I'm just trying to encourage you to stop being so...well...so Canadian. Canadians are wonderful people, but in a kind of a too, uh, bland sort of way, if you know what I mean and I bet you do.

Passion, young lady, that's the ticket. Care about everything you do and everyone you know and every moment that you live. Capisce?

I'm your friend, and I wouldn't steer you wrong. Trust me on this.
