Have you ever met anyone famous part 2
Edited on Sun Dec-07-03 12:42 AM by corarose
My Mom's two brothers had their own TV show in WV and they both worked for Chet Atkins.

My Dad's first cousin is Little Jimmy Dickens.

My Cousins were in the bama band but I don't keep in touch with them any more because they are Freepers.

I lived on the same block as the Buckingham's when I was a baby and My Sister use to date John John Polos who was in the Buckingham's and I went to School with Victor Giammerese.

(I met some real time Mob members that use to own the Psychedelic Furs, The Babies, etc)

The bands listed below I have either worked for some of them or I know people who were on the tour and I ended up meeting them. My Sister use to baby sit me and she would take me backstage to concerts. She use to live with Steve Marriott and then one of the guys who worked for Led Zeppelin. Later on I use to date Joe Shannahan who owns the Metro in Chicago but it never went too far just kidding around and drinking together.

I also lived in England with my Sister when she lived with Ray Thomas who worked for Led Zepplin but I was a kid at the time.

1. I wish you'd only listed those
you've personally met. And your list is so long that it's quite intimidating.

I used to work at National Airport in Washington DC, and waited on many a celebrity.

Jackie O
Stewart Udall
Danny Thomas
Helen Hayes
Jay Rockefeller
Dan Rather
Eric Severeid
Ralph Nader (actually, I was the agent who denied boarding to him one day, resulting in a lawsuit)
Arlo Guthrie
Victor Borge
Ted Kennedy
Ethel Kennedy
Caroline Kennedy (now Schlossberg)
Maria Shriver
Bobby Shriver All the Shrivers, actually and a lot of the Kennedys but not JFK jr
Carl Sagan

Mostly it was politicians and a few media or Hollywood types. My favorite story is when the hockey season had just ended, and all the Canadian players for the Washington Capitals were heading home to Canada, and after waiting on three or four in a row, I finally asked the next one if he'd give me an autograph (this is the only time in ten years I ever asked for an autograph) for my niece and nephew. When I got home that evening I called them and said, "Who's Guy Charon?" You hockey fans will know why they were impressed and quite stunned that I had no idea who he was. I told this story to my husband recently, and he was completely blown away.

I didn't list anyone that I haven't met and I can't list everyone.

When you work in the industry and you have family you tend to go to every concert that hits town.

I also use to live in England with a guy who worked for the Pretenders.

4. I have posted this before..but
My cousins are the Cowsills? Remember them?

Also, I met, well sorta of, Jackie Kennedy when she was in a very obscure, small restaurant in Newport, RI (my hometown, the Kennedys used to go there during the summer a lot).

Anyhow, I went into this very small restaurant (I mean small) and there was Jackie Kennedy eating Italian food. I didn't approach her, (this type of thing is NOT done in Newport), but I observed her. Walked by, and just smiled and said "How are you?" She did respond "I am very well, thank you." That was it.
