anyone tried that "eHarmony.com"??

I've seen the commercials but I've never done anything like that, or answered an ad or whatever. I've got a few friends who have suggested I try this method, but they are all married and met their spouses at work or school or somewhere "normal", so I don't listen to their advice in this regard.

1. They told me I was a hopeless loser

I took their little personality test and they told me something to the effect that the results indicated that I was part of the very small percentage of people that they cannot classify into a personality type that anyone could ever find attractive. So I decided not to join.

well, considering there are only a handful of personality types out there apparently...likely you are better off not using them. I usually stay away from these things.

After completing the personality test, and going through the part where they boast about their membership numbers, they tell me they have no current matches for my geographic region. My geographic region is the entire country. Believable, since I've only ever really matched up well with my ex.

That sucks.

This may also explain Philosophy's results on their personality test. EHarmony is a Christian outfit, founded by that Focus on the Family person. Doesn't mean they're bad; probably they're wonderful folks. But unless you're a committed Christian, you might want to look elsewhere.

How disingenuous of them not to say that in there commercial. Science and love, my ass! (Not that there's anything wrong with matching committed Christians... but matching me to a committed Christian would probably be wrong!)

Edit: Hey, they don't do same-sex matching either -- is this a coincidence?

I have heard it is sexual orientation-blind as well as color-blind, unlike eharmony.

8. I don't think I'll try any of them

My town is too small. I think I posted on Match.com a couple of years ago and there were two guys in my area... I recognized one of them at a garage sale I gave in September.
