* Gas at $2.799 a gallon for regular. I put $28 in my 10-gallon tank. A year and a half ago, that same fillup would have cost $12. Fuck you, GWB!

* Groceries: organic milk, organic lettuce, dog biscuits, and a bottle of Burt's Bees Milk & Honey body lotion.

* Makeup: at Sephora, bought mascara and lipstick (like I need more stuff in my makeup drawers, lol!).

* More makeup: Daywear moisturizer and GWP at the Estee Lauder counter.

* Sunglasses at Steinmart. Broke my previous pair.

32. Your mention of buying liquor and food
reminds me of the first time I went into a New Jersey delicatessen and asked to buy beer. The clerk said, "You're from New York City, aren't you?" I was, and I have since moved to New Jersey. But paying for tampons and booze at the same time took a little getting used to!

33. Beer and wine are available here (Boise) in grocery stores.
Everything else you get at the liquor store, and there are no privately-owned liquor stores here. They're all state-run.

Where I come from (Minnesota), only 3.2 beer is available at the grocery store. Strong beer, wine, and liquor all come from the liquor store. The liquor stores are not state run there; there are some municipal liquor stores, but the majority are privately-owned businesses.
