But I don't care.

This will probably be my only chance to ever see her in person.

And, she's in favor of a lot of the same things I am:

She championed AIDS research before it was "cool" to do so.
She's a vegetarian.
She's anti-Bush.
She's GLBT friendly.
She gets the fundies' panties in a wad.

Plus, she makes some of the greatest pop music you can find.
And IMHO, her work has become more interesting over the years.

1. I never really could get into Madonna
but I do like a few of her songs. What's that tune she did about 5 years ago where in the video it showed her in the foreground dancing and behind her there was shots of a city streaking by fast forward? I liked that tune.

2. That would be "Ray of Light"....one of her greatst songs
And can you believe it? It's been 8 years since the release of that album!

3. Wow
That is hard to believe. It seems like yesterday that I was drooling over her in that video. :)

4. Enjoy the show
I like Madonna, always have. I really hate the amount of money one has to spend to go see most of these headline acts, though and I've never really cared for the huge stadium show experience. I like smaller venues and more intimate settings, not to mention less expensive tickets!

I hope you have a good time, though, and that it's well worth it! :hi:

5. I just recently bought two tickets
Edited on Sat Apr-15-06 01:04 PM by Scooter24
to see Madonna in Miami on July 22. Had to get them through a ticket broker because all the good seats were taken.

Let's just say that my total was well over $2000 for two floor seats. But at least they are good seats :)

It'll be my first Madonna concert for me and my boyfriend. Plus it's his birthday weekend.

7. The last time she was here it was 1985.
And my parents so strongly disapproved of her that I didn't go see her with my friend.

A decision I've regretted ever since.

8. I LOVE Madonna
and it makes me sad that she never comes to Texas.

Last Thursday I went with a group of friends to a Madonna sing-a-long. :D It was at a movie theater so we spent almost 2 hours watching one music video after another on the big screen (along with song lyrics written on the bottom). The show was sold out and some people were dressed up like Lucky Star Madonna. Everyone was drinking, singing and dancing and having a good time...not as good as a concert, but fun.

9. These days I am amazed at her "British accent"...
I like her music, but I don't think I would pay to see her. She is the world's greatest PR invention though. I give her mega kudos for that. :hi:

26. About the British accent....if I were married to a Brit like she is
the same thing would happen to me.

I've always been a terrible, unconscious mimic. The people in my life can always tell who I've been hanging around by how I'm talking.

I'd probably make a great subject for hypnosis.

If I lived in Britain with a British husband I would have the accent within a month if not sooner.

27. I was in Britain for two weeks and started to pick up a British accent.
She is not faking it. Humans are social creatures.

13. I saw her in 1985
Back then she couldn't sing her way out of a box. Seriously, she sucked live.

Now she either has learned to sing better or she lip-syncs a lot of her concerts.
But it should be fun, she seems to put on a good show.

22. I would love to see her live.
They have two shows here in Hartford, CT.
The first one sold out really quickly which is why they added the second show.
I would pay a lot though to see her. I guess this is one of my last chances to see her but the days of the shows here in CT don't work for me.

Enjoy! :hi:

25. I love Madonna.
I'm not much into her music, but I do like an independent woman. I also like the things she champions.

Her last Rolling Stone cover...whoa. Easy on the eyes, too.

AND, she was the headliner for the first time they rolled the Beastie Boys onto a major tour, which helped get them where they are today, so I HAVE to support that.
