If you don't have them, get the United Artists Collection of his early stuff (only $10.98 from Amazon) and Sunday Concert (only album with "Ballad of the Yarmouth Castle", an even more poignant and evocative song about tragedy at sea).

Gordon's LPs were the ones you put on the turntable 30 years ago when romance was in the air.

He is an incredible talent, as a singer, songwriter, and guitar player. His songs will endure for generations due to the intelligence of his lyrics and his beautiful melodies.

16. I actually know someone who was on the Bahama Star then....

on her honeymoon. Her husband was seasick as a dog and my friend helped with the rescue. To this day, it is an extremely proud moment of her life. Partly as a result of the experience, she became a volunteer paramedic in her semi-rural community.

I used to have several of his LPs; I think my mother still has them stashed away. I have most of his albums on CD now, but I don't have "Sunday Concert." I'll have to get that one.

Here's an old one of his that can found on the United Artists Collection. It never fails to make me choke up.

Ever since I was a kid. I have GL vinyl. :bounce: Unfortunately, I need a new needle.

I remember we had an 8-track of one of his albums, and there's this one song on it (can't remember the name at this moment) never quite sounds right to me unless it fades out half-way through and then starts up again where it left off after a mechanical clicking sound. :-)
