A Great Bald Eagle Cam With Sound
http://www.infotecbusinesssystems.com/wildlife/default.asp

It's in Hornby Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Sometimes it takes a bit to load. Looks really windy up there. A little while ago, the eagles called to each other. Then, the mate eagle came back to the nest with some dry grasses to add to the nest. It was so cool.

2. There was a little problem with it this morning
I opened it and it was fine. Then the pic went still. I returned a few minutes later and it was running again. I love that the cam has sound so we can hear the windiness and also the two eagles calling to each other.

3. There are two eggs!
The eagle sitting on the nest jsut shifted around a little and I caught a glimpse of two eggs. I read that they can lay three eggs, but two is more common.

Woo-hoo!

4. I can see bald eagles when the internets is down
:D They are all over the place where I live. They are more adaptive than many realize. They can live without rivers and fish if there are other goodies to eat. They are smart too. Many hang out around highways and wait for cars to catch supper for them.

9. I saw one little one standing at the edge of the stork nest
The rest of the nest was empty.

Btw, the eagle cam seems to be down right now. Sometimes the live video goes still and I guess they have to get it going again.

Edited on Sun Apr-16-06 11:53 AM by eleny
And I see one little stork standing there looking around.

edit: Woops! I guess it was an adult, not a little one. The other stork just returned. I see now that these are the adults. Thanks!

15. I wish I could tel them apart
One of them on the nest was crying out a lot earlier. I was reading in the other rom and heard it go on and on. things have settled down.

One thing - I never see one sleep for any length of time. Seems like they cat nap. I gave it up at around 1 p.m. mountain time last night. Maybe they slept when I did!

21. Nice that their numbers are growing!
Btw, I checked out the Forums at the eagle site and someone explained that the female is bigger and has a bigger "hairdo". I noticed that one had a larger, shaggier white head. So I guess that's the Mrs.
