i heard from my family yesterday - the monthly check-in call to say I'm alive and well

in chatting with my sister - she said the my nieces (ages 10 & 9) have set up a lemonade stand and in 2 days made $30.00 :wow:

50-cents a cup, and many people paid them with a dollar and told them to keep the change...

next week they want to expand the 'menu' to include cookies...

my mother has her own business doing taxes and bookkeeping - I heard her in the background shouting out - "If they earn much more money we'll have to get them a tax id number...."

It's amazing how the 'cute' factor increases sales, not to mention the likelihood of a sale. I myself have been duped into buying things I would not have otherwise bought on several occasions by the wiles of an adorable child as salesperson. Let that be a lesson to all parents or youth group leaders.
