Easters from my childhood

My mother used to make bunny footprints with powder all over the table & furniture. If I woke up before my brother and sister, I would go thru the house, spotting all the hidden eggs, then when we were all up, I would zip around and grab them all. We never dyed real eggs - always had the candy eggs with that dried-out white crap in the center. I hated the damn eggs - after I got them, I gave them to my brother later to eat - he ate anything!

1. I remember one particular Easter morning ...

my mom and my aunts woke me up and held me up against the window . I think I was about 4 or 5 years old at the time . But anyhow , they were supposedly showing me the Easter Bunny . In my list of beliefs at the time ( 1) God , 2) Santa , 3) Smurfs , 4) Carebears , 5) Strawberry Shortcake , 6) Rainbow Brite ) - the Easter Bunny was something that I did not believe in LOL . So I am just looking out the window , and I did'nt see s--- ! I told them " I don't see it ! " - so they took me to the front door and honestly enough in our neigbors yard was a real wild bunny rabbit ! I was jumping up and down ! My eyes were so big ! I felt special and you could'nt tell me that the Easter basket that I got that morning did not come from that bunny . That was one of the best Easter mornings that I ever had :)

4. We must be about the same age.

:) and I loved me some Smurfs, Strawberry Shortcake, and Rainbow Brite. My son still buys me Care Bear beanies for present giving holidays.

5. I am 25 now - will be 26 in August

And the Smurfs , Strawberry Shortcake , Rainbow Brite and the Carebears still excite me . I wish I could find the red Carebears lunch box that I carried to school because I would still take it to work with me today .

3. We used to go to church

when my uncle, the minister, still lived in the area. I didn't understand church much, except that it was all about God and Jesus and singing hymns. I loved singing the hymns. Uncle Jim did too. He'd belt them out in his huge, booming, out-of-tune voice. He was wonderful! :D
