1. Both
I love both. But if I have to pick, I'm a dog person. I love dogs on a deeper level than I love cats. And I love how much they love back.

Plus they're easier to train, and it can be fun.

2. I Love Both
but I "get" cats more than I do dogs. My brother is the opposite and my mom "gets' both equally well.

3. I often wonder how this preference informs on personality
Most dog-people I know are loner types, but I can't peg down the cat-people so easily.

6. My Brother is So NOT a Loner!
Quite the opposite, in fact. I tend to keep to myself.

9. I'm like your mom...
Although we have 4 cats and 2 dogs (and a rabbit) I connect with all of them very well.

10. Like them both.
I have two cats and I prefer owning cats because they are so much lower maintenance than dogs. I love how independent they are, and when I have a cat curled up on my lap or next to me, well, it doesn't get much better than that.

What I love about dogs is how connected to humans they are. Most of them really, really like just about every human they meet. I love how they are loyal to and protective of their own humans.

If I had a very different kind of lifestyle I'd have both. But we travel a fair amount, and the reason the two cats works out is my brother lives with us and feeds them and scoops the litter box when we are gone.

13. I'm with you there...
I have two cats
One is a reincarnation of an argentinian tapis waiter and the other is a reincarnation of a gay cowboy.

But I would diffenitely have a pooch if I could (work load and apartment).

11. Obviously I'm a dog person
For one thing, cats make me puff up and wheeze.

For another, and I've said it before, cats can't pull for sh*t. ;)

12. Both are great in its own right..
Dogs are loyal, protecting, sweet, smart
Cats are indipenant, hunters of pests, sweet, and smart
Both are great pets to have

14. Both
2 chihuahuas and three cats, but once my 13 year old cat goes, he'll be the last because of the scratching, hairballs, and litter box.

20. Love em BOTH...it depends
on what I have at the time. Right now I have a dog, the last cat died three years ago. Sometimes I have had cats and no dogs, right now it's a dog and no cats.

23. I am the VERY proud owner of ...
Deebo "the destroyer" Dog (73lbs) & Clyburn "big man" Cat!!

I love them both equally. There's no way one is better than the other. Cats & dogs are so loving and accepting, I couldn't imagine not having both in my home.

The cat was here first and learned to live with the hyperactive puppy the dog used to be. Now the dog has decidedly cat-like ways. When playing he rolls onto his back with his paws in the air and bats at you as you pass by. It's hilarious!!
