I have room in my heart for all DUers
Except one! No, even that guy. I'll treat you all as well as I treat myself, which isn't saying much.

8. Why do you post in all my threads?

At least post something interesting, esoteric--something.

13. Does this satisfy your desire for something interesting and/or esoteric?
Although economics concerns transactions between human beings, some economics journals, such as the journal Econometrica are very abstract and mathematical.

Taking the July 1993 issue at random, we find an article called: "Implementation in Economies with a Continuum of Agents". We also find in that issue an article, called "Existence and Uniqueness of Equilibria when Preferences are Additively Separable", one of whose few concessions to the English language is its opening two sentences:

"While the infinite dimensional equilibrium existence theory is now well understood, there are few results on the problem of uniqueness. The purpose of this note is to study the particular case of a pure exchange economy where agents' consumption space is L subscript + superscript p (mu) and agents have additively separable utilities which fulfil the hypothesis that agents' relative risk aversion coefficients are smaller than one."

There is a story, perhaps apocryphal, currently on Wall Street about a Romanian theoretical physicist now employed as an economist at a leading firm of brokers. On being asked at interview how he had come to be interested in economics, he replied that he had been able to study it only with great difficulty. The communist regime under Ceauşescu had imposed an ideological ban on imported economic journals from the West. But one journal, Econometrica, had escaped the censor, on the grounds that its contents could be of no conceivable relevance to anything.
