Something about age?

2. Did you check out the picture on his site?
I am not sure she has finished puberty, but then again, I am not acquainted with the culture.

6. Just found out she is supposedly 21 (unverified source)
He was born in 1945, and the fact that his wife died so recently, I wonder what in the hell he was thinking.

10. I think this is what folks are thinking/saying
I've met and worked with a couple of "Art Bells" who have gone to the Philipines for wives. Their expectations are that American women are too modernized and the reputation is that a Philipine wife will be the domestic servent/sex kitten that they are unable to find in an American wife. I feel sorry for the wife, she was probably excited about coming to the United States and probably has no clue what to expect with her life her in the states. She will be expected to toil all day taking care of the house and other laborous tasks about the house and then take care of his sex fantasies at night. She won't be allowed out of the house unless she is with him will probably not be allowed to make contact with her family except special occasions.

Art Bell isn't in love - he just went shopping overseas for a new toy. And I think it's pathetic

13. he's in for a rude awakening
if he expects some submissive domestic servant / sex slave. I've dated a few Filipinas in my time and I never really saw anything like that from them. I think he may end up being the one doing the housework!

16. We can only hope...
...remember in the movie "Blind Date" where Kim Bassinger tells the Japanese woman that women in America are entitled to fifty percent of their husband's assets? The "no speak english" japanese woman real quickly said, "fifty percent?"

is wrong. Art is moving to the Philippines.

I have streamlink and listened to Saturday's show this morning. To me it seems like he was possibly set-up. Upon announcing his wife's death he received thousands of condolence emails but only a few to his personal email. Amongst them was one from this young woman. He didn't know how she received the address or how she knew about him but he kept writing her. They then started video conferences for as he said, 3 hours a day. Finally, after quite a while he asked her how she came about contacting him. It seems that a fellow ham operator friend of his is engaged to her sister. He gave Art's new wife the email address......... He also said that until 2 weeks before they met, she hadn't a clue as to his being a radio personality, author. I think that's BS. It all just sounds very fishy to me.

And yes, his ego is being stroked as well as other anatomical parts and he kept saying something on air about no divorce in the Philippines. I think he will regret that.

That said, I do really hope that this will work out for him and importantly, if she is an innocent, for her.

9. I'm totally shocked by it. His wife passed over in the beginning of
January and he kept talking about she was the love of his life. I lost the love of my life 5 years ago, and it took a good year for me to be able to focus with a clear head on anything.

As to his new wife's age. She looks like a child but he did mention that she just graduated from college. Literally just. He was there for the ceremony.

And, like i said above... if he is expecting a submissive little Asian girl, he's going to be in for a rude awakening.

If any of you would like a larger paintbrush, I'm taking orders until 5:00pm.

20. Ah yes
Consenting adults

Personally I would not be with a woman who is more than 8 years younger than me. That is because I think that we would be incompatible on a couple of different levels. I'm 33 and I am now a totally different person than I was when I was in my early twenties.

But to each his/her own....as long as they're old enough.
