Before the air rushed out
and the blinding heat

reverberated through my being into silence
into peace.



I remember
putting baseball cards in my spokes.

before Dad got pissed off.
and put me in my place.





I remember this morning

telling me to make a people free
telling me they expected fairness


While they tried to kill us


because their life was bad.

The sand is eating me now.

I keep feeding it

and she drinks
as much as I can give her.

I came here for my one true love.

and she has left me here.

3. I remember swinging from old cypress trees out by Bonne Carre Spillway

in da swamp. Half-naked teenagers dangling from ropes until swinging out to the farthest point, and then 'SPASH'! - you're in the bayou. Old muscle cars, Ozzy's voice cracking through car speakers, beer bottles everywhere... :D

edit: and crawfish, and alligator sausage po-boys. :9
