Poll question: Most annoying commercial on Air America?
For which ad can you not reach the mute button fast enough?

2. Arbor Day Foundation
The only good thing about not having an affiliate nearby is not having to listen to that fucking song in that commercial again.

3. Since the tooth grinding commercial has mercifully vanished,
I'll have to vote for the insane woman who wants Harry to tell us about the discount.

4. Different markets have other commercials...I haven't heard any
of those listed.

In my area, it's ads for a furniture store, public service ads about asthma and childhood alcoholism, and Oreck vacuum ads.

I hate it. I also don't like the freedom from religion commercials. You can be liberal an religious.

7. I don't get those commercials.
We have appliance store commmercials, Oreck vacuums, lawyers, etc. And it's the same few commercials all day long. I've gotten to the point of turning the radio off for a few minutes so I don't have to hear them.

17. the hypnotist one, the "Listen to the Diva" (there are several
of those) and the one for the Adult Accessories shop in Dallas; I can't think of the name of the store right this minute, but I must be blocking it. That and the fact that my car radio died a week ago and I can't listen to AAR cause it won't receive at my house.

It isn't the fact that it is an Adult Accessory shop that bothers me; it is the fact that it sounds like it was spliced together from indpendent pronouncings of each and every word. Almost but not quite electronically generated voices...very irritating.

18. bad editing
eew - i know just what you mean about the Frankenstein voiceover.
<<indpendent pronouncings of each and every word>> yes, that is just what you are hearing.

having worked in that business my ears are quite affronted when i hear such hatchet-jobs.

i don't get that particular spot in my area but i'd betcha they used 'my girlfriend/brother/nephew/bestfriend has a great voice" .
oftentimes the client thinks that will save money - why use some overpriced pro?
Then you waste buttloads of studio time trying to get something usable outta Great Voice whereas a pro could have knocked outseveral great takes in no time.

Penny wise and pound foolish.

BTW: I'm sure that's why aWol talks in that stilted.... unnatural pause .....between words....that he does.
makes it *much* easier to edit later.

19. I vote for Harry,
but the Scruff McGruff ad is pretty bad, too. I'm not sure if that's on AAR or Stephanie Miller, but it's pretty annoying.
