I just told a lady I know at work "you're a real skank, babe". She got really PISSED OFF at me! I was under the impression that skank was synonymous with "sexy". What am I missing? She's a manager here and she reports to my bosses boss, so I'm a bit nervous right now!

You would not have gotten a second chance at most places. You'd already be out the door at my workplace. At the very least, they should be requiring some "sensitivity training." Most businesses can't afford to take the chance on sexual harassment lawsuits. I'd be very careful about calling her "babe" in the future, even if you drop the "skank" part.
