It was a sad moment in recent DU history. She made "upgrades" and changes to her site, and immediately was called every horrible name imaginable by the oh-so-tolerant "liberals" here, who never even took the time to show their appreciation for the free service she had been providing. I was pretty disgusted...the name calling, the "I'll never go to that site again!" posts, just because she tried to change the format, were not pretty.

I regret I didn't post in it, if only to tell the detractors to STFU. Liveoaktx provided a FREE service that you could always seem to count on to have every clip anyone was talking about. Being one who runs a site to which virtually nobody "donates," it gets pretty frustrating at times. And then to be ripped off, and get bitched at for trying to reorganize -- ALL FOR FREE -- I was just amazed. I wish I could say it was lurking freepers who did it, but it wasn't. People just don't seem to realize how tough it is to keep a viable site going, and she should have been commended. Anybody who was involved in trashing her should be ashamed.

I took up for her as much as possible on that thread.. What I find ironic is that one of the posters who was really coming down on her posted a song thread here and immediately someone said the song sucked and that poster got offended... It wasn't even his own work.. This is liveoaktx's pride and joy, she has, and continues to put a huge amount of effort into that site.....

here. When I get discouraged about the BFEE and what they have done to America, there is always a matcom news thread or a silly poll or a hilarious photoshop to cheer me up. I am really glad Skinner put the lounge at DU. It allows folks like me to decompress and breathe.

I only realized liveoaktx was the host of the Can-O-Fun site from that hideous thread. I posted in it to let her know how much her posts have meant to me, a 21st Century person who doesn't have cable. Really, her posts were the only thing that clued me in at all about half of what is talked about on DU, since everyone is always referencing some cable show or another. liveoaktx's posts were essential to my DU experience.
