Dumped dog again. This time I fed her and am stumped :(

I was out by the road getting my mail and this little girl came running up tail wagging and wanting to lick me. I brought her up to the house and fed her (she has ribs showing)and watered her. My dogs are being mean to her. I tried to ease her out and let my guys get used to her but it turned into a fight both times. I already have 6 dogs and can't afford another as much as I would like to.
She is a very nice dog, friendly and outgoing. She appears to be about 6 months old.
The sad thing is she will be dead in a week unless I can figure out how to find her a good home. My county's animal control puts down dogs quick. The humane society won't answer their phone (I always get a machine). There are no no-kill shelters in my area.
I wish I could save them all. This is just another example of how much people suck (in general). If the idiot who dropped the dog would just have his/her bitch spayed this little girl wouldn't have such a short and awful life.

1. Send me a PM....
I work with a network of rescues all over the country. Maybe one of them can help you out.

4. That's beautiful
I love animals. I wish I could help the OP out. I would love to have a pet, but my lifestyle won't permit it. Let me know if you all get this sorted out.

9. Ideas
Call your local animal control and file a "found" report. Same with any local humane society. Then, try a free ad in the local paper.

Then, go to petfinder.com, and look up your local rescues. Call them. See if they have space. That dog is far too white to have been on the streets for long...

Good luck, and THANK YOU!!!! for helping this little girl out.

16. NOOOOOO! Not a 'free to good home' ad.
Unless you're willing to spend the time and money necessary to vet whoever answers the ad. That's where bunchers get the majority of the animals they sell to labs.

20. Relax, that wasn't what he meant. Most papers will let you put in an ad
for free when you have found a pet. It's a "good Samaritan" type thing.

Believe me, flvegan knows all about the horrors of "free to good home".

14. How could someone not care?
I wouldn't care if it was the ugliest dog in the world. The poor thing is less than a year old and has been thrown out like an empty beer bottle. Tossed on the side of a road.
I let my dogs out and let her roam the house. Although she did try to kill the cats she also spent an inordinate amount of time trying to lick me. She would be a great dog for a cat free household.

15. I took her down to the animal shelter this morning.
I took her to a shelter in the fastest growing county in middle Tennessee. I figured that they would have a better chance of helping her find a home than my counties animal control place. They told me she had a 75% chance of adoption. I really hated to do that but my dogs attacked her twice and she tried to eat my cat.
I am so sick of these so called "people" dumping their problems off on me. Hell, if they were really too poor to have their dogs spayed I would even pay for it. I guess it was better than the last dump off of two dead dogs. Thats right, they were too lazy to bury the dogs so they dumped them in the ditch by the road.
I guess I need to install some security cameras up there as I am sure I will get a pup from the next litter as well.

You did the best you could for her. I get a lot of pets left around my house, too. It makes me so angry.

18. She's a beauty.
Surely someone will adopt her -- as long as they don't have any cats. Many kudos for caring.

19. I really hope she finds a home.
I figured that with all the new houses going up in that county there may be more intrest in her.
She was a really sweet girl, whenever I was near her she would lick me. I would have kept her if at all possible but my four "junior" dogs have just about settled on their position in the pack and this dog was a threat to them I guess.
I know it isn't possible to help them all. I wish other people didn't force me into the position of having to deal with their problems. I hope the idiot enjoys his karma because he has bad days ahead.
