I just got through using Nexdisk
for the first time. Really cool. Smaller and lighter than a BIC lighter, this one only has 128 mb storage, but I know they are available with 256mb. I transferred some word files over to my laptop without having to burn a cd or email them or anything.

Okay, what else should I buy? (Nothing. No money.) I was thinking of getting the Bluetooth stuff to create a wireless connection to my printer, but my printer may not be ready to go wireless.

I am in awe of all the stuff that I read about in PC Mag.

any Windows after Windows 98 recognizes it with ease when you plug it into a USB port. I think it runs about $40-50; about $60+ for the 256mg. Little sucker even has a clip for the top pocket or you can attach it to a key chain. Toting files to and from work isn't what it used to be.

Details: When copying from the source to the Nexdisk, you open "My Computer" and go to the new hardware (it was drive F on my old Dell), create a new folder, and drag or copy over from the source file to the new folder. You may have to click on the hardware icon to properly close it in order to save to the Nexdisk.

Then I brought it over to my laptop, plugged in the Nexdisk, and copy from it to a Word file I had. Alot easier than burning CDs or diskettes to transfer files. The only thing (that I know of) we'll use a CD for is to write mp3 files.

4. Another gadget addict
I have stopped reading PC mag because I salivate at all the new toys and stuff.

I really could get along with a much less well equipped computer but I like bells and whistles...

So hard being a poor gadget addict.

I would LOVE to have a 40GB portable hard drive to carry around with me.

5. Heh
I have had one of the Iomega pocket USB drives for about a year now. I love it. I have all my favorite network scanning tools on it.

:)
