American Idol, of course!!! You know, they are singing Rod songs! I think Taylor will do well tonight! You know the whole raspy voice thing!

3. Not me. However, I might be backing him up later this year.
As far as I know, anyway. :) Just one gig.

7. Elliott COULD really shine tonight
he better because he is on the hot seat.

Here is how I think they will get voted out

Ace is next

Then Paris

Then Katharine

Then Taylor

That leaves Kelly :P -- Chris --Elliott

I think Elliott wins. I could be wrong he could be gone tomorrow or next week.

10. Best night of the season - IMO
Edited on Tue Apr-18-06 08:49 PM by mvd
There was only bad performance - Kellie's. I think they did better than they would have if they did Rod's own original songs. My ratings:

Chris Daughtry: Finally! Chris completely adapted TO the song, instead of making the song adapt to him. Very impressive. He showed a more tender side. He has potential if he doesn't become like just another angsty rock singer. 10/10

Ace Young: A little karaoke as Simon says, but MUCH better than last week. He is kind of limited to R&B inflected pop, but he's usually dependable there. 7/10

Elliott Yamin: Even he had a performance I enjoyed. I always thought he could sing, but rarely has his voice clicked with me as it did tonight. 8/10

Katharine McPhee: I knew she'd have a good night with the standards, and she didn't disappoint! Simon went overboard though when he said it was so much better than any of the other performances. 10/10

Paris Bennett: I did hear some Billie Holiday - very nice. And based on past weeks, she's probably the performer that's most capable of a good performance outside her element. 9/10

Kellie Pickler: She went off-key way too much. Even Kellie admitted she didn't do well. You know you didn't do well when Paula changes the subject. 3/10

Taylor Hicks: He was his personable self - another winning performance. 9/10

12. I don't think there are any "Rod" songs to be sung.
The AI website referred to them singing from "the American Songbook" which of course is the series that Rod's churning out like sausage.
