I do love the view of San Francisco and the Bay from the Berkeley Hills, as well, but, for pure "Spectacular!" you can't beat that Grand Canyon.

Another cityscape is the New York skyline. There's the opening credits of the film My Favorite Year. It starts with just an outline of the Brooklyn Bridge, then pans to the skyline and fills in the details. Nat King Cole sings Stardust throughout. Beautiful, simply beautiful.

9. my own backyard is a meadow leading down to a creek, tall pine

trees surround me on three sides on the fourth is the side of a mountain. Deer bed dwon for the evening. Wildturkeys see fit to gather for a few days. Feral cats make my front deck their home fora time. Hawks fly in the lazy circle, riding out thermals. Squirrels play in the trees and rabbits play in the yard. The bluebirds and cardinals make nests. That first bright green of spring is bursting and the hills are alive with thr bright glow of a neon spring. Azaleas and jonquils are blooming. Purple thrift flowers a small bank alongside my drive.
