But Lara... I think you ARE supposed to wear the gel side up. Seriously. Isn't that the way they're illustrated on the package? I had a pair once and I'm almost sure that's how it was indicated to put them in... and even if not, what the hell, it's worth a try. Health-wise, I don't think it would be any more of a problem than wearing some of those sandals with the slick leather/pleather/plastic sole tops...
