14. I like the high-speed action
in Star Wars.

Star Trek though, is good on plot, but I prefer the fantasy like settings in Star Wars better.

16. I voted Trek
because the characterizations aren't just archtypes as they are in SW. And the series was decent excluding Voyager (which I hated from start to finish). Even in Enterprise, with its flaws, had decent characters--it just didn't have great plots to work with, because they never did catch on that the history of the Enterprise had to correlate with the rest of the Trek universe.

SW had action, imagination and a good running story, but the special effects (to me, anyhow) ruined it by taking out the human factor.

I don't care for the new BSG at all--too melodramatic, too angst-ridden.

I never quite got into Dr. Who, though I recall I watched it many years ago when Jon Pertwee was the Doctor. I even saw the early film when (I think) it was Peter Cushing playing Who.

On the other hand, since I try not to take my SF and fantasy as serious as some others, I really have to admit that the Stargate shows--the original and Atlantis--are my favorites right now, because while they are elaborate, they also have a good solid characterization at their cores, and they don't take themselves so seriously that they forget to make you smile a lot. And they have had some of the best comic episodes every year--they try to have at least one per season played strictly for laughs so that fans can see that the writers are just as big fans as the rest of us.
