They both did soooo good last night! :bounce: :woohoo:

Did Ace look like Steven Segal or is it just me? :puke:

1. Katharine did great but I don't think she'll take the brass ring
This is likely to be the year of the rocker for AI.

It's funny...Ace (the 'do reminded me of something from the samurai movies) actually probably deserves to stay this week over Pickler but her looks will override the performance factor.

3. I like Taylor too but Elliot is a close second for me.
Not a Katharine fan.
And most definitely not a Pickler fan. She looked like a freaking Barbie doll last night!
I thought Paris sounded really good. Give her a few years and I think she'll be a star but I don't see her winning competition.
I want Ace off tonight. I've heard enough of the 'boy band' sound to last me a lifetime.

7. Also my two favorites!
I'm glad I think Katharine's very talented, because I'd want her to stay just because of her looks. This way, I don't have any guilt problem. I think last night's performance was Kat's best in a while. She's been consistent, but last night she really had that spark she had from performances like her "Come Rain, Come Shine" one.

Taylor has had a few song choices that didn't suit him, but overall, he's the most talented male IMO.

Kellie and Elliott are still my least favs, though Elliott's technically a better singer than Ace.

9. These are the predicted results from dialidol.com
Looks like they predict Ace going home. I hope they're right about Elliott being safe and not in the bottom three!

Rank Idol
1-3 Taylor Hicks
1-3 Elliott Yamin
1-3 Katharine McPhee
4-6 Kellie Pickler
4-6 Chris Daughtry
4-6 Paris Bennett
7 Ace Young

10. Dialidol..
overestimated Elliott's support last week. That said, I think Elliott is safe this week. I think Ace goes because of the whole "not bad, but not as memorable" thing. I really hope Paris is safe. Based on past dialidol results, she could be in big danger.

11. The Local "Morning Zoo" was flooded with Kellie hatin' calls
Man did she ever look SuuuuuuuuuHWEET last night:P

MMmmmmm

One "Idol fanatic" said she couldn't get through on Elliott's line (he is a Richmonder so he is the focus locally) but that she had NO PROBLEM calling in on Paris's line.

12. awwww.... c'mon.
Don't you think a woman with a fully functioning brain is much more attractive than a Barbie doll? Ya know, beauty is only skin deep and all that kinda thing? Just wondering.

14. She seems like a really nice gal, especially given her
home situation. With a crook of a mother and a father in jail, being raised by her paternal grandparents!

Must be tough growing up that way.

But I still don't want her to win. :hide:

21. Depends on the woman
Seriously.

I mean think about the reverse.

Would you rather have

a) A gorgeous man with the mental acuity of a thumbtack.
b) A hideously (as in like elephant man level) ugly man who is brilliant.

Personally there is more to it than just one or the other. You've gotta have at least something going for you in a variety of departments. If my choices were limited to Kellie Pickler and....dunno a really hideiously ugly smart woman, I'd probably kill myself.

Attraction is in the mind, the body, the personality, the confidence of the person. it's more than just looks and brains, and it's not one or the other.

Maybe a better question would be "would you rather date an absolutely gorgeous man with an IQ of 140 and a stellar personality, or a hideiously ugly man with an IQ of 150 and a stellar personality."

I think most people would go for the better looking one.

22. Looks and brains don't have to be mutually exclusive.
I don't look like a Barbie doll but I've been told I'm attractive. I also work to improve my mind.
My feeling about Kellie is that no one ever told her that you can be attractive AND smart, and she thinks men will only like her if she acts stupid and cutesy. That's my problem with her.

Most people are neither gorgeous or hideously ugly. I'd say most of us fall into a middle area. One problem with society is the narrow definition of what constitutes beauty. Too bad. Most people are nice looking, they've just not taken the time to notice it themselves.

23. Honestly I don't think she looks THAT good
She is too skinny imho, and her face isn't anything to write home about. Sure she's "pretty" but she's not like....some astounding beauty. People sort of talk about her like "well she's got her looks" and I think to myself that she needs more than that.

I agree with your feelings about Kellie. She almost works too hard to fill that "Dumb Blonde" roll to the point of becoming it.

I read something about attractiveness that it tends to be tied to proportionality. The more proportional your features the more people will think your'e attractive, based on facial studies they've done. I don't know the number sbut basically the size of your eyes compared to your nose, to your mouth, and theyr'e placement on your face, etc...determines it.

I sort of follow the old Mind Body Spirit thing. You can be mentally attractive or physically attractive etc, but to truly be overall attractive you need to be well balanced in all of em.

15. No apparently she spends two hours calling and checking
to see who is getting the most calls, according to her method.

BTW- this information is brought to you by my "Well at least I am not into Idol like THAT" conscience.

She said that she got through after some calling on Ace's line and that Taylors wasn't that clogged either.

I don't know if this really means anything but she spent two hours calling.

Apparently if you call you have to do something to actually vote it is not just calling and getting the call picked up at the other end.

Who knows?

Doesn't that cost per call?

24. The bottom this week (my opinion of PERFORMANCE)
1. Kelly Pickler
2. Elliot Yamin
3. Ace Young

If we're going by THIS WEEK alone, Kelly Pickler would be packing her bags.

Katharine McPhee did a good job this week, but her vocal acrobatics remind me too much of Mariah and Aguilera that I just don't like her.

My favorite is Paris.

26. Paris is very close behind Kat and Taylor
In fact, Paris has been more consistent than Taylor IMO.

I see no similarlity between Kat and the Christina/Celine/Mariah types. There's something more timeless and unique about Katharine's voice.
