I was at the Twins v. Yankees game when Rivera blew the save...
And it was quite the moment. Especially after having to listen to some of the worst, foulmouthed, abnoxious assholes on the planet cheering for the Yanks behind me. The longwinded yahoos became quite tightlipped once Joe Mauer crossed home plate.

I never said a word. Their silence was priceless. 55 Million v. 200+ Million = Cheap wins, Expensive Losses.

1. The universal sign for such instances
Is to look at one's tormentor and cup one's hand to one's ear as if to say, "I don't hear you now."

2. I've got stories about Yankee fans...
I was at an Angels-Yankees game last year and the Yanks were ahead 5 - 2 and the cheers from the Yankee crowd were loud and obnoxious (especially the assholes sitting in the row next to me). Next up in the batting order - Vlad Guerrero with the bases loaded. He hits a grand slam to center field right over Matsui's head. Pretty much shut the Yankee fans up the rest of the game.

4. There are assholes in most stadiums
Granted NY seems to have an oversupply of asshole fans, for the most part Yankees fans are great baseball fans and nice people. For all the jeering you have to take at the Stadium as a visiting fan, it is your right to enjoy the win. I'm glad you had fun.

5. Gracias.
Sunday, however, was another story.

I had to suffer through the 9-2 loss AND their spouting.

One lady behind me yelled "Hows that rally cap working?" I didn't say anything. I should've said "Ask Rivera how it worked last night, you cow."

I'm sure most Yank fans are spot on. But they have more dickhead fans than any other team. Which is probably becasue they have more fans, period.
