For the first time, my 7 y.o. son and 5 y.o. daughter ate a meal together

For the first time, my 7 y.o. son and 5 y.o. daughter ate a meal together

and ate the same food. HUGE milestone this past weekend.

My son lost the ability to eat solid food at age 2 due to medical issues (long story) and has subsisted totally on Pediasure and soy pediatric drink since then. He is in weekly feeding therapy to try to get that ability back (and on motility medication), but it's a slow process.

But he's making progress. For the first time in their LIVES, my son and daughter sat down at the table this weekend and ate the same food together. It was just apple butter (aka thick applesauce), but we were almost in tears. I grabbed a camera and took this photo:
