It's from last summer, but I bookmarked it, and I think I laughed even harder this time.

I've decided it's my all-time favorite editorial. :-)

Hey... you got anything to eat?

2. I'm jonesin' for a goat.
I think it would be hilarious to have a little goat guy running around in the back yard and climbing on the shed. There's probably some kind of zoning ordinance that I should look into first, huh?

Do they seriously eat everything?

3. You know, I rarely laugh out loud
about stuff online, bu that got me. Absolutely hilarious, and true, too.

(I was once surrounded by a herd of goats that chewed the bottom hem off of the shorts I was wearing!)

8. You keepin' a sandwich in your pocket for later?
I'd be happy to eat it for you now. You don't even have to take it out of the bag. I'll eat the plastic and everything. Or tinfoil.

Don't make no never mind to me. :9

Thanks for appreciating my favorite goat, redwitch. Goats never get any love.

13. I'm surrounded by goats!
My job has parked me in Egypt for most of the past year. I stay in Alexandria, but my job site is way out in the Nile Delta, past the town of Dammanhor. (For Ancient Egyptian history fans, that name translates to "City Of Horus." According to the Egyptians, anyhow.)

Twice a day on the commute, we have to pass thru a string of little farm villages where life hasn't changed much in a thousand years.

It's not at all uncommon, on the smaller roads, for our car to be surrounded by a herd of sheep or goats.

What cracks me up is the baby goats (or sheep) and the herd dogs...who really do herd. The smaller animals have trouble keeping up, simply because their legs are shorter.

So the herd dogs act just like traffic cops, nuzzling the little ones with their muzzles to speed them up.

"Move along there, bud. I'm not losing my dinner treat because you got eaten by a fox."

Watching that always makes me laugh.

The photo reminded me of one place we pass where 2 families live in...well, the only word is "hovels." Mud-brick walls and straw roofs. No running water. I know that because I see them drawing water from a well in front of the houses every day.

Both families have geese, so I guess they needed a way to tell which geese belonged to who. They use colored ribbons tied around the necks of the geese--blue for one family, orange for the other.
