Do you want a real sweet dog? (Tennessee and surrounding sts)
I had a dog dropped off on my road the other day. She is a mixed breed pup of about six months of age. She is a very sweet girl, she will lick you to death if given a chance.
Here is my proposal. I will pay to have her spayed, tested for heart worm and give her all the shots she needs. I will deliver within 300 miles of Nashville- I am willing to meet someone if they are farther away. All you have to do is love her and give her a good life. She should be in a home with no cats, other dogs are ok.

I am determined to save this dog from death, she really is worth the effort. I can't keep her because I have six dogs already and the night she spent with us was very hectic. My dogs have just figured out their rank in the pack and this new one was attacked as a threat to the order of things.
If you know of anyone who would like to have her please let me know.

1. I have a cat.
If I didn't, I'd seriously consider it, because that is one sweet looking dog. I hope someone takes you up on your offer.

3. Call your local rescues with the same offer.
Bet someone takes it.

Petfinder.com plus your zip code will give you a list of the locals. You might want to take a good profile (side shot) picture of her face. It'll be easier to identify her breed/mix. She looks like a real love.

Good luck, and thanks for taking care of her!

5. Second.
That's pretty much what I was going to say.

I was also going to mention talking to area vets. My vet participates in a program where they give pets to senior citizens. They provide the shots and the neuter/spay, along w/ food. If there is a vet in the OP's area that does this they might gladly take them up on the offer.

6. Would the Humane society endorse a "free" adoption?
I would gladly pay the fee (80 bucks) for any qualifed person to adopt her.

13. I have six myself.
They didn't appreciate the newcomer one bit. They attacked her twice but I was able to break it up in short order. I couldn't consider another one right now.

9. Craig's List
Try that. I just put stuff on yesterday and got quick response. You can tell what kind of people they are by the kinds of questions they ask, which should help you weed them out. I wouldn't offer the spay and shots up front, force them to ask those questions. If they don't, then you know they aren't responsible enough to own a pet. Just a thought. Good luck, she's a cutie!

10. Go to YahooGroups.com
You will have to register. Then search for rescue groups in your area and surrounding states. You can post about the dog and it will go out to thousands of members. I have found homes for three cats that were dumped in my front yard.

11. Oh, I can't right now.

I have one dog already in a pretty small apartment. If she's still available in September (I know, a long shot) I'll be moving to a bigger place and could probably take her. She's beautiful!

Have you checked with Cattle Dog rescue groups? They will find, at the very least, a foster home for her.

You are the best, WCross.
