Do YOU believe? Open this to see Goatonapole and its principles...
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 08:54 PM by Radio_Lady

"Goatonapole is the philosophy of being that holds that there is a Goat and a Pole and that the Goat is on the Pole. In the relation of Goat and Pole we Goatonapolists find an eternal thread of unfathomable cosmic significance, a point of reference in which all opposites dissolve into a unity of infinite breadth, a universal truth underlying the very fabric of existence. Upon contemplation of the Goat, the Pole, and their relative positions, one cannot help but realize that we've always been talking about Goatonapole. Whether we accept, reject, or live in ignorance of Goatonapole, we are all Goatonapolists."

1. I think this is a heresy of the Flying Spaghetti Monster religion
A possible breakoff group who refused to recognize the Holy Noodly Appendage

2. I don't know...this appears to be more of a philosophy than a religion
Perhaps it's possible to be both a goatonapolist and a Pastafarian, at different levels of consciousness.

3. A question for the ages...where does philosphy depart from religion
Pasta or Goats....goats or pasta. Little pellet poop, or maranara.

4. Well, in certain forms, goat cheese can complement many pasta dishes.

For instance, a good bit of feta on a ceasar salad to go with your penne...perhaps you could see the two as outgrowths of each other; or perhaps the goat is a tool created by the FSM, in its infinite noodly wisdom, to enhance our connection to his culinary divinity.

I'm not entirely sure how the pole fits in, but perhaps a prophet greater than me will come along to fill in the theological holes.

5. I've been asleep all day and sick -- holy Spirits have come to me.
But maybe it was 102 degree temperature, I haven't a clue.

I think I should create a NEW religion called SHEEPONAPOLE. They have good balance, too, those sheep.

But I'll have to convince a few disciples about this NEW religion.

Or you could call it a philosophy.

Or I could just go soak my head and try to get the fever to go away.

Last night, at about 2 AM, I watched a PBS show about "The Making of the Pope" (That wasn't it's real title, but I didn't see the beginning.) I hope I don't offend anyone, but the ritual in the Catholic church is so out of touch with what I believe -- simpler is better -- that I just sat there in bed and soaked it all in.

The buildings, the prayers, the Latin, the pomp, the circumstance. It's very heady and pretty amazing that something could have gone THAT FAR in religion.

But I digress. It was wonderful that people believe it and it helps others. Except for all those little children who got fondled and worse. I con't think I will ever think about Catholicism again -- without thinking of them.
