The subject for this month's contest is

MAKING CONNECTIONS (JUXTAPOSITION) - An image that combines two very different things in a way that creates a connection between them.

The top two finishers in each round will advance to the finals, along with the next four highest vote-getters overall.

The preliminary round will run until 6:00 P.M. P.D.T. on April 22nd.

Seriously, I'd like to say that the Cash Machine Available Here is a gut-wrenching photograph that needs to be distributed far and wide. That's America today, in a simple photograph.

I like all the pictures, but that one just does something to me.

Good imagery, good tight shot... well done!

Cash Machine almost got my vote, but it has too much stuff. I would prefer to see it cropped down to the subject matter, and leave out all the stuff on the sides.

Both photographers also understood the theme of the contest, and made great use of juxposition. In the others, I don't see any real juxtaposition, no sense of cognitive dissonance that leads to harmony.
