Opera Launches Public Beta Version For Opera 9
http://www.playfuls.com/news_02144_Opera_Launches_First_Public_Beta_Version_For_Opera_9_Internet_Browser.html

Opera Software announced its first public beta for the version 9 of its browser, which includes features such as Widgets, BitTorrent support, improved easy-to-use content blocker and thumbnail previews of tabbed sites – keeping its policy of free software.

"We're proud to release this Beta of Opera 9 to Web users around the world," said Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "Opera 9 brings powerful new features to enhance the Web browsing experience and empower Web 2.0 developers. Opera 9 unlocks new levels of productivity for the Internet ecosystem."

The most notable change regarding the new version of the browser are the Widgets, small Web applications (multimedia, newsfeeds, games and more) that make your desktop experience more fun. Any Web developer can create their own Widgets and share them, regardless of operating system.

The BitTorrent integration support included is very useful for those who don't want to use a separate BitTorrent application, as users can now simply click a torrent file and start the download.
