True love ...
I just found this pic on my camera. I forgot that harleydad took it a few weeks ago. That's my little Satchmo and me. Anyone still think he looks mean? :loveya:

I have two grown kids of my own, so that would make me someone's mom. :hi:

8. Abyssinian.
We have his mom, Sabrina, too. They are great kitties! Very affectionate and sweet -- wouldn't bite or scratch anyone, even when they don't like what's happening to them. Sabrina is more likely to wiggle out of my arms than try to hurt me. Satchmo just puts up with everything. Here he is on our new waterbed:

And here's his mom, Sabrina, looking all kinds of cute on the lawn chair: :loveya:

It's very frustrating for me to watch ... not like I'm into fashion (they would probably like to get their hands on me). I don't like the hosts very much, the way they make fun of the people they're making over. And they don't seem to get a lot for their money. Oh, well ... that's just me.

You're right about plenty of people being home watching TV. I'm lucky that it's unusual for me ... so I'll quit whining. :loveya:

25. Me?
I have NO social life. This is it, right here. I have an environmental illness called MCS ... can't be around all the fragrances that everyone wears or I get really sick. So I stay home almost all the time. I can never go to shopping malls, parties, etc. Poor harleydad -- it's pretty hard on him, but he doesn't complain. So, I'm usually home on Friday nights, but not alone.

How 'bout you?

27. Oh no.
I never knew that about you.
Honestly, I have never heard about that illness before.
Is there any meds you can take for it?

What happens if something triggers the illness? What kind of symptoms do you get? Is it life threatening?

I live a pretty full social life. I go out a few times a week. I usually go to this little bar that one of my friends works at. It's a good time.

32. Yepper.
Many people haven't heard about it ... and there are still doctors who think it doesn't exist. I don't look sick, which can be a problem when it comes to doctors. (I do have a good one, though.) Being so sensitive to chemicals, I can't take most meds. But there isn't really anything that helps except for avoidance. There are a pile of symptoms -- shaking, coughing, trouble breathing (it actually triggers an asthma attack with me), mental confusion, dizziness, burning eyes, severe fatigue ... to name a few. It's not life threatening at this point, but the damage could get worse if I continued to be exposed every day, like at work. I had it for the last year I was working and it just got harder and harder. I can visit my mom, sister, and kids, because they make the necessary accommodations. But it's too much of a pain for most people to leave the fragranced stuff off.

I'm glad you have a good social life! It's important to have a good time. :bounce:

39. Yes.
We get special ones. We did a complete clean-out of the house when we first found out about it. Now the list of soaps, etc., that we buy is very short. It even bothers me when my neighbor dries her laundry b/c her dryer vent blows directly into my patio. We FINALLY got her to use fragrance-free products for the laundry, but it's been a challenge for her to get her kids to comply. Now that we're moving, they're doing pretty well. Actually, one of the big reasons we're moving is so we can be farther away from neighbors ... but not because we're antisocial.

23. Yes, they are.
I LOVE them! You have to make sure you get the right size (by the weight of the cat) and don't be stingy with the glue. The tip that comes with the glue doesn't work very well, so I use a toothpick -- it lets me see how much I'm putting in a little better. Here's Sashka with hers.

 Cats! You never can tell what they're gonna do next!

They were scratching my sofa and nothing we did helped. We tried sticky paws, but Sashka thought they were toys -- she rolled them into balls and batted them around the floor. We have four scratching posts, too, but they wouldn't use them. What's funny is that NOW they use the scratching posts. Go figure. Maybe they just wanted "painted" nails? They are girly girls, after all.

Satchmo doesn't need them -- he ALWAYS uses the scratching post. (He's perfect, you know.) :loveya:

My parrot is terrified of cats, squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, bunnies and turtles.

I think it's cute when the cat's tail twitches while watching birds.

My house mates love her but Frodo doesn't let anyone pick her up if I'm home unless she needs to be rescued.
She startles easily and will fly off her perch. :(
She is so busy playing that when something moves outside, she almost jumps out of her feather suit.
