Verizon wireless, laptop to cell phone tower?
i think that is how it works.

anyone know how much it costs per hour or month?

I need broadband. Can Verizon set up a prepaid arrangement, like i have for my cell phone? I dont like the complex usual plans for cell phones.

Please advise this liberal arts type.. dont know much about financial stuff.

thank you!!
Oscar... i just got me an FDR avatar. Like it?

3. $39.99/mo Data Service
You can use your phone as a wireless modem for your computer - it's not strictly supported, but it's easy to set up. Phone and computer should both be Bluetooth.

6. The service can be slow or non existent in some places. You might
want to verify coverage. Am saying this because I bumped intoa guy today who was struggling for a signal.

8. This Is a Little Different
Verizon sells an unlimited data plan for use on their phones, so you can do some net surfing, get email on your phone, With the little (well-known) hack I mentioned, you can get the same on your laptop/desktop as well for no additional $$.

10. Sounds nice.
Do you have a link spelling out the procedures involved, and coverage areas? Thanks in advance.

I have seen the Kyocera card work wonderfully, though it seems to cost more than what you're proposing.

Haven't seen the newer PC card in action on the Verizon network, but it looks promising.

11. It's A Hack
There are websites, but to point you to the right one, I'd need to know what kind of phone and computer you have. The codes are pretty much the same ... but I'm only familiar with two makes of phone and one make of computer.

Coverage can be found on Verizon's site.

12. This article implies that the method violates the Verizon agreement:

Not to be a prig, but being a prig nonetheless.

Shocked, I tell you.

Did I stutter when I typed "hack"?

14. Not all hacks involve stealing.
You won't have to remind me not to enter into a contract with you.

Happy trails.

15. No Problem - I Know What "Swag" Means!
Swag (informal) - money or goods taken by a thief.

Just because one knows how to do a thing doesn't mean one does it. I don't have the data service - are you nuts? I barely use my phone.
