Ah yes, the joys of some bizarre and undiagnosable (idiopathic) pre-disposotion to pancreatitis. :( Even though alcohol did not cause my attacks, just to be on the safe side I am now a teetotaller.
I really hadn't drank heavily in several years--but knowing that never aagain shall I imbibe my beloved beer, well, every now and then it still makes me a little sad. Plus, I've got some home-brewing stuff in storage that'll just taunt me when I clean it out.
So here I sit, 10:30 on a Friday night, typing away at DU. Just fyi, it's been five months since my last drink. I'm not "in recovery" so-to-speak, but I have a new appreciation for people who MUST remain clean and sober--always. Whether I wanted to or not, I have taken one step closer to being a paragon of clean livin'! ;)
Fortunately, in the last several years I had started a new passion which has amply filled my need for social interaction, and just plain ol' FUN. Y'all guessed it: paddling. It seems a lot more tolerable to stay in on a Friday when you are getting ready for a big day on Saturday! I'm getting more muscular, and believe it or not, my paunch is slimming down, but I am still heavier than I'd like to be. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day!
Here's where I'll be tomorrow: (Just the Upper section)
