I'm reading Stephen King's CELL.

This book his hilarious.

1. Stephen King can be very funny

Something that is often overlooked. In his non-fiction book Danse Macabre, he poses the question of why was society so afraid of the topic of death that kids weren't allowed to visit the local morgue as well as the local McDonald's on field trips. If he ran the world, he would do just that, with the final spectacle of the day being the McCorpse.

2. I've been reading both Stephen and Tabitha books lately.

She's an amazing writer. But I can't imagine the conversations that go on between the two of them.

10. I liked that book.

I also liked his ideas about the thought behind The Exorcist and The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Our sweet little angels often turn into sullen little devils about the time of puberty, and sometimes others seem so strange (Bushbots) it's tempting to believe they're being controlled by aliens.

4. I finished Cell

a couple of months ago, it was pretty good. I liked it..(i'm not posting any spoilers), but I do enjoy how King takes something, an object, an emotion, or fear and twists it, and twists it and makes a great story about it. I think he is putting out anohter book at the end of this year(cant remember the name).

And here, my wife and I were worried that he would throw in the Towel after he was done with Dark Tower 7...

5. He's an amazing guy. I used to run into him in Fryeburg ME.

He's the nicest, most down to earth person with a lot of humility and kindness. After metting him in person, I love his writing even more.

6. Damn...

I would love to met him in person. The way in which, he writes/describes Maine, reminds me of my part of Alaska, SE Alaska that is. My wife and I were thinking of taking a vacation up there latter on this fall(depends on gas prices).

His writing, which he writes a bunch, is usually very good. My favorite reads so far are the Dark Tower Series, and Needful Things...he did amazing, using a innane/idiotic urge that most humans have in Needful Things and twisted it around pretty damn good, good writing.

My wife has been a fan of his her whole life, and through her i started to read more of him. I started with Insomnia, and i wans't impressed, but my wife pushed me into the Dark Tower and i struggled with the Gunslinger, and i began to think he was a crack pot, but then the rest of the series took off, and was fantastic! I have read over 20 of his novels so far, and I got 8 more of his on my plate right now, I am 20 or so pages in Tommyknockers now, i finished IT two fridays ago...I have probably read 12 King books this year...I plan on hopefully reading everything he has put out...:)

7. I was surprised at how good The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon

was. I have hiked those woods he writes about and once got hypothermic and lost my way in the Whites, so the fear in the story was so real. And the ending was so-o-o-o-o-o satisfying. Of all his writings, I liked that, The Dark Tower and, of course, The Stand.

On Writing is also great.

11. I haven't read that one yet...

This year alone, i have read over 26 books...the king ones i read this year are as follows.

The Talisman, Black House, Eyes of the Dragon(good one!), The Stand, Needful Things, Bag of Bones, Nightmares and Dreamscapes(also good), The Green Mile, Dolores Clairborne, Thinner, IT, and Cell. I am in Tommyknocers, but I also got Everythings Eventual, Hearts in Atlantis, From a Buick 8, The Dark Half, Dead Zone, and Geralds Game.

The other ones I have read are Insomnia, Dream Catcher, Dark Tower Series(7 books in series), and Salems Lot. I think the weakest one of his i read was Bag of Bones...At first I thought Insomnia was weak, but after reading the DT series, i realized that Insomnia tied heavily into that series, and after the DT, i realized that Insomnia had a lot more things going on in it, than i first realized. But Bag of Bones i believe has bee the weakest one that i have read.

I was expecting more from the Stand, the movie was pretty damn accurate to the book, and so was Thinner, and Dolores Clairborne, and Dreamcatcher the movie totally sucked, and was WAY off base, way off base. I watched dreamcatcher first, adn i left the theater shaking my head...and after reading the book, it made a whole lot more sense..big time.

8. I liked Cell

more than some of the recent King novels. He didn't waste any time getting the plot in motion! I put a hold on the book at the library and read it in two evenings. I think I'll buy a copy when it's out in paperback.

Dude is waiting in line to buy ice cream, waiting, waiting, woman in buisness coat, is on her cell phone, and she starts freaking out, and whammo! Shit hits the fan, on like page 3...and keeps going! :) He didn't waste a second getting into the thick of things...:)

13. I love Stephen King...

I think I turned my mom off of him, thought when she overheard me telling Skip on the phone about what a great humanitarian he is and that he's a really great liberal who thinks we should take care of each other. She freaked. I love him even more. lol
