Geckos in the bra!
Yeah, I'm watching some queer Irish movie on Logo and chillin' with my male gecko. He crawled inside my tank top and then inside the bra. Now he's sound asleep. I'll let him stay there until I go to bed.

2. Don't want to get this thread locked...
I finally got one of mine locked the other day. Apparently, I was making fun of Tennessee.

It's kind of amusing when the only male that's been inside my bra in about four years is a leopard gecko named "Spot."

3. lol - I found that especially funny, having just read an urban legend
about a hamster in a bra, about five hours before your OP.

4. Cute story.

And good of you to let the little chap stay. They're so sweet when they're sleeping. Look just like little angels, don't they?

:)

6. I lived on Guam as a kid and there were Geckos everywhere. One day
my Mom went into the bathroom and flipped on the light. A gecko had been hanging out on the light and I guess it got a little hot. He fell off the light and landed right on my Mom's head.

You should have heard the screaming!!

...every time I see your thread title in the Lounge, I keep hearing "Geckos in the Bra" as sung to "Strangers in the Night." It's been cracking me up all day. :7

I really think you should take him along, tucked into your bra on your next date. Perhaps he'll pop his head out over dinner, or some other interesting time.

:P

14. I took him to work with me once.
He just stayed on my shoulder though. One of my coworkers wanted to see him and I was only putting in like 2hrs that day, so I took him along. It's funny because I think only one person noticed that didn't know I had it.

That'd be funny on a date. A good way to judge if it'll work or not. If she can handle a gecko poking it's head out of my bra then she's girlfriend material. Now I just need to get a date.

12. Yeah, I wasn't paying much attention to it.
The main characters were Irish lesbians. I didn't mean queer offensively or anything. I'm actually a lesbian.

15. Yeah, leopard geckos are really calm as adults.
Most other geckos don't tame though. Leopards don't really go anywhere when they're out of the cage. They'll stay on my shoulder for hours because it's warm. Cleaning the tank is easy because I don't need to watch them. Just take them out (I have three), put them on my shoulders and when I'm done, put them back in the cage.

Last night, the male was on my stomach while I was surfing DU and he crawled inside my bra, settled down in my boobs, and fell asleep. Makes sense though, he is a horny little guy with the two female geckos.

Oh yeah, and you know the geico commercial where the geico gecko is talking to the spotted gecko in the desert. That's the kind I have. The spotted one.

24. Neato!
That's really cool that they'll hang out... I think if I ever got a lizard, I'd want one I could take out and have hang around. 'Course, that'd mean I had to get rid of the cats, so it'd doubtful, but good to know, still!

25. There's four cats in the house.
They don't bother the lizard if it's on me. They can't get into the tank, so it's kind of like cat tv, and the geckos just kind of stare at the cats. I'm sure they're thinking "sucker. You waste your time. I'll lay here on a rock. Hey, um, got any crickets?"

That's cool that your cats leave Spot alone... I'm not sure I'd trust my monsters to do the same! ;)

28. Two of them kill everything...one took home 4 "gifts" just today
It's just that the screen clamps down on their tank so they can't get in it. And as crazy as my cats are, they're not going to climb me to eat a gecko off my shoulder.

17. Leopard gecko basics
They get to be about 8-10" long. Mine are about 8". The male would probably be 10" if he had a full tail. As babies, they have bright bands and they lose the bands and develop spots as adults. They eat crickets mostly. I also give them waxworms and superworms. I have major issues with bugs. Somehow the feeding bugs to lizards thing doesn't affect me.

A single one can be kept in a 10g tank. More than that, get a 20g long. I keep my breeding trio in a 33g long (4'x1'x1'). When I have more money, I might buy another female or two. They're the calmest, easiest lizards to keep in general. You can handle them and they stay small. You can buy a normal colored baby for $20 or you can buy a rare color adult for $600.

Here's a photo of my "normal" female, Killer. The pic is red because of the heat lamp. The one that was hanging out in my bra, looks almost the same, but doesn't have a full taill. He also has less spots because he's a "high-yellow." The other female is a "high-yellow albino."

I was laying on the couch with my laptop on my stomach. So aside from my hands, I was pretty still. So was the gecko.

26. Spot's a beauty!
We live right up the street from Lake Ray Hubbard, so have lots of the little guys running around, constantly. These are the little flesh-colored ones.

The other night, reprehensor went to take Fargo for his nighttime walk and called me out. We counted about 8 on our front portch alone. They were ridding us of the skeeters and moths who were out for the evening.

They're so cute!
