i'm watching "Semi-homemade" on Food Network

she's making carnival food, i'm waiting to see how she sneaks alcohol into one her recipes or concocts a carnival cocktail.

1. On Friday I went to a restuarant called "Carnavale"

I was expecting carny food - corn dogs, cotton candy, etc. Boy, was I surprised.

2. their menu looks good, what'd you order?

3. As follows:

I went with a group so we shared appetizers that were guacomole (5 stars) and 3 kinds of ceviche (good but not special). Then I had a soup of the day which was a poblano soup which was incredible. It may have been the best soup I ever had. For dinner I had the rum-basted pork shoulder on puerto rican rice and beans and plaintsins. It was good but frankly I've had better in Humboldt Park.

Dessert was toffee cake (yum), tres leches (eh) and a flourless choclate bar (eh).

Note: No funnel cakes, no elephant ears and no deep fried snickers bar.

This place is huge and loud. Lots of chads and trixies. Would I go back? I dunno. It would not be in my top 10 and maybe not top 20.

5. LOL! Shamdra is always good for a chuckle.

I was not even aware of who she was until I stumbled across a vehemently anti-Shamdra group on the net. Hilarious.

Her recipes are absolute swill most of the time. And yes...she does like her a little nip now and then.

7. she came on to me at the gay and lesbian parade in west hollywood

in 2004! i'm not kidding. she was drunk. i later found out she is married to one of the richest men in the country. but when she's drunk, she's a lesbian!!!
