I got a new job!

After I just got done bitching that no employers seemed to be interested in me I got a call from the human resources department of a car hauling company. Their drivers make 50-80 percent more than I currently make. The lady offered me a job. Woo Hoo! I start May 22. Thanks to all of you who wished me luck in this endeavor.

In some ways it's also an easier job. The only hard part is load and unloading the cars. I will actually drive less miles and make more money. Lord knows I need it as well. It's been slim pickings around the Droopy household for quite some time.

I was very nervous about possibly damaging a car. I asked the recruiter about that and they said that I will not be held responsible for any damages. She also said that if I damage too many cars that I will not be fired, but given a second chance with some retraining. That made me feel a whole lot better.

The phone just rang with another job offer. Not as good as the other one, though. I guess I just need to learn to be patient.

The new company appears to be flexible as well. I told them I need to see a doctor about 4 times a year for check ups. They didn't have a problem with that.

Responsibility will be higher. I have to transport a load of cars without damaging them in any way and I am responsible for loading and unloading the cars. I think I can handle it. I asked them about their policy on damaged cars and the are lenient. They'll give you a second chance with some retraining if you have a bad streak.

Same thing happened to my son a while back.. he filled out all kinds of applications, and out of the blue,(a YEAR later) a place called him, paid for his training and he's making twice what he made before with bennies:)..
