Do any other DU'ers who use a "Park & Ride" notice this?
Giant SUVs now dotting the parking lot.

This morning there were 2 HUMMERs in our P&R parking lot. I've never seen even one before in the 4 and a half years I've been commuting via the train. In addition, I've noticed that there are a lot more big SUVs in the parking lot. I'm glad that they are finally wising up and taking the train, but I wish they'd learn how to park. They seem to have a propensity for taking up 2 spaces.

Assholes.

1. When I had a beater car,

I would pull up to within about thee inches of the driver's door of people's big fancy cars which were taking up two (or more) spaces. Unless they were courteous about it and parked far, far away from the entrance/exit where it wouldn't take spaces away from anybody else.

2. One annoyance that I like to engage in is......
If somebody parks too close to my driverside door, I usually fold their passenger side mirror in.

It does no damage, but at least gives them a subtle message.

I don't like to box anyone in. I like my car too much I guess. It's a '93, but it's in great shape and I'd like to try and keep it that way.

4. Right.

The intent isn't to do their vehicle any harm, but just to make them get in through the passenger door. I understand them not wanting to get their pretty, expensive vehicle dinged up, and like I said, if they are courteous about taking up multiple spaces and park far enough away where they won't inconvenience others, I'll respect that and of course I'll leave it alone. But I hate it when they take up multiple spaces where parking is already at a premium, forcing others to walk farther. It's not the vehicle so much annoying as it is the attitude... "I've got a BIG EXPENSIVE gas guzzler 'cuz I'm somebody IMPORTANT, and I DON'T want you heathens with your old junkers anywhere NEAR my vehicle because you're obviously LOSERS who won't even CARE if your crappy car gets a ding in it, so you're not likely to treat MY car with the proper respect. So I'll just FORCE you to give me what I want by taking up more than my share of spaces. Ha!

But I like your idea of folding in the passenger mirror, too. :)

5. And it doesn't stop there either.
Etiquette on the train platform is out the window.

Most of the male 'regulars' on the platform would take their time boarding the train, letting women and some of the older commuters on first. Now, when the train pulls up, there's a mad dash for the door. It's like gettin' on the Tokyo subway now.

Bastards.
