Good vibes for a friend's surgery, please!
He's going in for some delicate throat/neck surgery tomorrow (Tuesday); the surgery is supposed to last from about 7:30am Pacific time through noon or so. He's a very good guy, and is a little frightened, and any positive thoughts/vibes/prayers/whatever-your-thing-is you can send his way would be great.

His name is Howard, he'll be in surgery in Los Angeles.

Many thanks in advance for all the good thoughts.

1. Absolutely! Both my husband and I have had surgery in those
areas and we are both doing very well, if that's any help.

Please keep us posted, if you could.

2. will do -- he thinks he'll be able
to send out an email tomorrow afternoon to let us know he's OK (I think he's being optimistic, but I have another friend who'll let me know)... I currently live on the east coast, so I'm relying on others to keep me posted.

Thank you for your thoughts, blondeatlast & mr. blondeatlast!

3. When I'm helping my son get ready for school tomorrow morning
I'll think of Howard and send good vibes southward.
About forty (!) years ago I met very good guy from L.A. named Howard who had just transferred to my high school in Massachusetts. In study hall he noticed my Indian water buffalo sandals and thought he had found a "hippie"friend...and he had! ;)

Sending your Howard calming and healing energy tomorrow...

4. thank you!
I haven't seen him since I moved away about 8 years ago and am planning to go out and visit all my LA/SoCal friends this summer & he needs to be there!

He took time off work during the 2004 election aftermath and spent a lot of time in Ohio, trying to help however possible. We need all the dems to be healthy!

8. Thank you, CaliforniaPeggy and Pithlet!
I talked to him an hour or so ago and he was taking a sedative so he could get some sleep.

I'm worried, but I think it's because a mutual friend died on the operating table (back surgery) almost exactly a year ago (one year on Wed; my friend is going in one day shy of that). Bad memories making me anxious. Thankfully, Howard seems to have forgotten the significance of the date b/c of all he's had to do to prepare for this, arranging for friends to care for his animals, setting work up so it doesn't all go to hell, etc.

I'll boost this thread tomorrow once I have news.

10. Remember, my dear Flaxbee.....
The fact that your mutual friend died on the operating table nearly one year ago, has NOTHING to do with Howard's surgery tomorrow....

These dates are purely coincidence....there's nothing to them!

9. Thanks, NSMA.
I hope it does, too.

Will update when I can. I've seen the Lounge vibes work over the years and am positive they help!

13. Just heard a little earlier this afternoon that Howard's fine...
Took us a while to track down his family and find them at home; Howard hadn't put any of his friends (including those who got him to the hospital at 5am for his operation) on the list of people to whom the hospital could disclose his condition, so a friend finally got his dad at home this afternoon.

Don't know when he'll be back home, but I do think he's gonna be in a neck brace for 6+ months.

Thank you to everyone who sent positive vibes. It was a really delicate surgery and he seems to have sailed through just fine.

I appreciate it (I'm sure he does, too)!
