He Stopped Loving Her Today...
This song always makes me think of my Father In Law. We've been missing him a lot lately watching the kids grow up, and realizing all the things he will never share with them. MrG just found a letter he wrote him when he was 14 and it was really touching. coulda Woulda Shoulda...

He said "I'll love you till I die",
she told him "You'll forget in time"
As the years went slowly by,
she still preyed upon his mind

He kept her picture on his wall,
went half-crazy now and then
He still loved her through it all,
hoping she'd come back again

Kept some letters by his bed
dated nineteen sixty-two
He had underlined in red
every single "I love you"

I went to see him just today,
oh but I didn't see no tears
All dressed up to go away, first time
I'd seen him smile in years

He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

(Spoken)
You know,
she came to see him one last time.
Aww, 'n' we all wondered if she would.
And it kept runnin' through my mind
"this time he's over her for good."

He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

2. GrandpaG always thought he was going to get MrG's mom back...
It never happened and life got to be too much for him. :hi:
MrG played this song over and over again after he found him.
It just came up on the stereo shuffle and made me a little teary.

3. One of the saddest songs ever.
Beautiful, though.

Even if George Jones ran over dolo amber's Frisbee.

11. I am well.
I am off from work today. Don't have much planned. Think I am going to just relax.
It's a bit cooler here in CT today so I don't think I will be going to the beach like I did last week.

It's nice out. Just cooler. And you know it's always breezy at the beach!

:hi:

12. Yep! We went to the park at the end of our street (it's on the lake)
and it was quite chilly. Today it is rainy...just this side of sleet. So I'm in for the day. Glad you are getting a deserved day off!

13. Sleet??
 YUCK! :(

It's sunny here suppose to get up to about 60 or so and then maybe some late afternoon/evening rain.

It poured here on Sunday. Some people say we got 8 inches of rain in certain parts of the state.
We needed the rain though but I don't know about that much! :)

So what are your plans for the day?

14. Well right now I'm "supposed to be painting the bathroom"...but of
course, I am not. And I'm going to sort through some of my son's "stuff" to condense his room down and make it look bigger. We will see how far I get. ;)

15. Well go and get some work done.
You don't want Mr. G getting upset at you now! :)

We'll be here when you get back! :) :hi:

Whenever I need to get a task done, I set limits for myself.

Like, I will work for 20 mins. and then have a cigarette and post a bit on DU then I go back to work for 30 mins. and then take a little break.

It's very motivating that way.

21. White.
isn't that exciting? It's the downstairs bath off the rec room, so I'm just painting it functional, for resale.

22. White's a common color for a bathroom.
Why go all crazy when you're just going to sell?

Painting it white gives people the option to keep that room the way it is.
It's a good choice to paint it white.

Now just paint it already! :)

17. He and Tammy lived down the street from my parents years ago.
They opened a music venue (read tax shelter) in Central Florida at the time. To the neighborhood kids he was what the adults called a "friendly drunk". Used to hang out the window of his car and ask us if we wanted to go for a boat ride on the lake behind his house.

Whenever Tammy took away his car keys he would ride his lawn mower to the local Quickie Mart for some beer.

:D
