Toddler Survives 30 Foot Fall From Apartment Window

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Orange County deputies are trying to find out how an 18-month old child fell 30 feet from an apartment window.

Channel nine spoke to a neighbor who saw the whole thing. Ria Evens said the toddler fell from the window into the mulch below at the Mystic Point Apartments in Lake Buena Vista

At first, she saw the child's foot dangling and thought someone was holding him. Moments later, she realized he was in danger.

"He was hanging from the window. My mom said, 'Go get him.'By the time I got there, he already fell," Evans explained.

The neighbor said the boy only suffered scrapes, but he was still rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

She also said when deputies went to the child's apartment, no one answered. The incident is now under investigation.

That's amazing. Thank goodness he is okay. I fear this with my nieces all the time. Their living room windows are above the garage, up on a hill. My brother has gates over the bottom half of the windows...but they can climb. :scared:
