When did press start using min for million?
I've just noticed that here lately. It throws me every time I see it.

1. Uh
"min" is short for minutes. Please tell me that the press hasn't gotten that stoopid.

3. 'min' or 'mln?'
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 09:58 AM by Gormy Cuss
the latter is used as an abbreviation for million and at a glance it can look like 'min.'

On edit: I was trained to use the capital letter M as an abbreviation, but what do I know?

7. British/Commonwealth English vs American...
in US English 'M' is the more common abbreviation for 'million'; in UK English (and also Canadian, South African, Australian, New Zealand, etc, English) it's 'mln'.
