I've been horribly bad about sending out resumes. I didn't even send out resumes to some jobs that I would have loved. This company that I've been eying for a while now has an opening. I sent them a resume and THEY CALLED!

The OP was asking about salary, but there are some non-salary hints in there as well.

Make sure you do your research (salary.com is good) in case salary comes up in the interview. That way you know a range going in.
