Has everybody seen the wacky new $10 bills?

Supposedly, they were introduced last September, but I didn't see one until earlier this week and spent it immediately. They're a little odd, look sort of like a practical joke:

Engraving & Printing calls it subtle shades of orange and red; I call it pink. What's wrong with pink, suddenly, fellas?

1. Just spent one today

When I got it I wondered what the hell was going on. Someone had to tell me they made new money..lol.

3. I suspect that when they say they're releasing a new bill or coin

they mean that they've finalized the design and that it'll actually be out in six months or so. I spent the one I got at lunchtime today at dinner and then immediately got another a few minutes later. I hadn't seen any at all before this week. Admittedly this is the backwoods, but I don't think there would be that many landing in my hands suddenly unless they had just been released.

4. It looks more counterfeit than the old one.

Maybe that's their security plan, to make all money look counterfeit, so it doesn't make a difference.

7. Mine look orange...really, REALLY orange.

My mom works in a bank. She said they had it counterfeited in under a week, and it's supposed to be uncounterfeitable. :rofl:

but it doesn't look like it has that shiny stuff on it, which is harder to counterfeit.

I liked the plastic brazilian bills with the clear circle in the corner. Those were neat and apparently hard to reproduce.
